Hydroxyethyl Cellulose

Natrosol® High Viscosity Hydroxyethylcellulose products from Ashland Aqualon Functional Ingredients are excellent viscosity and rheology modifiers, water retention agents, stabilizers, and suspending agents. These products are nonionic and ultra-high-molecular weight polymers designed specifically to thicken water-based oilfield servicing fluids. These polymers are off-white, free-flowing powders that are typically surface-treated to disperse rapidly and dissolve easily in water. Special and non-surface-treated grades are also available for operations that require fast hydration and viscosity development. The resulting polymer solutions are clear, viscous, and essentially residue-free. They can also be used as free water control additives of oil-well cement slurries.

Natrosol Fluid Loss Additives are a series of nonionic and low molecular weight hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) products -- designed specifically to control the fluid loss of oil-well cement slurries in intermediate oil-well cementing. Natrosol® Fluid Loss Additives for oil-well cementing are free-flowing powders that dissolve easily in water to produce a totally lump-free solution. However, solubility is limited by the polymer concentration and resulting solution viscosity. They can also be used for fluid loss control in completion/workover and drill-in-fluids.

Natrosol® Liquid Hydroxyethyl Cellulose is a high-active-content and environment friendly anhydrous fluidized polymer suspension of a variety of Natrosol® Hydroxyethyl Cellulose grades designed specifically for use in oilfield services. Beside their functionality as a fluid rheology modifier, fluid loss reducer, and suspending agent, Natrosol® Liquid Fluidized Polymer Suspension provides outstanding lubrication properties.
